I am Nurlan Lalayev, a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Warwick. I research focuses on micro-level channels of economic growth along the ladder of development.
Previously, I was at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Before that, I worked at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and Universität Hamburg in Germany. I did my MSc in Hamburg with a major in Economics and minors in Philosophy of Science and Political Theory. I received my undergraduate degree from Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
I've held several leadership positions, such as an executive board member of oikos International and as president of oikos Baku. Most recently, I was the coordinator of the Economic Development Working Group of Young Scholars Initiative of the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
I used to run a small research blog: development-review.org [I should probably restart!]
